Use of funding

Funding provided through the Events Queensland Regional Development Program can be used for the following:

Core Program (one year event support)

Funding may only be used for:

  •     Strategic marketing campaigns to increase awareness and visitation
  •     Methods to address long-term development of the event
  •     Employment of personnel to further develop or market the event
  •     Operation costs where it can be demonstrated the funding will contribute to improving the visitor experience (e.g. hire of temporary infrastructure such as toilets or to improve access

Significant Regional Events Scheme (multi-year support up to three years)

  •     Funding may be used for any event purpose - however the business case submitted with the application must detail how funding will be used to expand the event’s positive impact on the region.
  •     Measurable outcomes for funding must be provided with the application.

EQRDP funding cannot be used for:

  •     Insurance costs
  •     Capital or equipment costs
  •     Prize money
  •     Appearance fees
  •     Sanctioning fees
  •     Entertainment
