Event Eligibility

To be eligible for funding through the Events Queensland Regional Development Program (EQRDP), your event must comply with the following eligibility criteria.

Core Program Funding
(single year event support)

  • Events that take place in regional Queensland - this excludes events held within the Brisbane City Council authoritative boundary;
  • Events must have the capacity to further develop and grow in terms of audience, spectator and participant numbers or media profile;
  • Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or have a written agreement with a legally constituted organisation acting as an auspice;
  • Events must have been held at least once or, if at a concept stage, planning must be advanced to the point where there is significant, demonstrated community support for the event. In other words, it must be more than just a ‘good idea’;
  • An organisation may make an ‘umbrella application’ on behalf of a number of events seeking EQRDP support;
  • Events must take place in the time frame relevant to the round to which the application is submitted. Core funds cannot be granted retrospectively or out of a funding round;
  • All applications must include a concise three-year plan outlining strategic objectives that detail how the EQRDP funds will be used to maximise the event’s development;
  • Events must obtain tangible community, council and RTO support and letters outlining this tangible support must be received with the application;
  • The event must be listed with the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and evidence of this listing must be submitted with the application. There is no cost to list an event with tourism potential.  Visit www.tq.com.au/atdw to find out more.
